Ouch! Kids are always getting into scrapes. Now they can investigate the science behind their cuts and bruises.
A current exhibition, “La Bio des Bobos” (The Biology of Boo-boos), takes a two pronged approach: “La machine à Bobo” (The Bruise Machine) lets children aged 5 -10 explore what goes on in the body when it hurts itself whilst “La Bio du Bobo” for the over tens provides a more in-depth analysis with an interactive multimedia station explaining the science behind boo-boos and how to prevent and treat them. Six areas examine bruises and the blood, burns and the skin, cuts and the immune system, fractures and bones, spasms and muscles, pain and the nervous system. But anxious parents can rest assured—in the final section kids can put into practise what they’ve learnt with a quiz on first aid and an interactive exhibit in which they can “heal” a mascot suffering from all the little ills explored in the previous displays. Don’t miss your last chance to catch this fascinating exhibition, which above all celebrates the body’s amazing ability to heal itself. Next time your child bangs an elbow or grazes a knee, they just might know how to deal with it better than you.
